One-on-One Services

Meet life’s struggles with curiosity and compassion.

Welcome. Working one-on-one with clients is among my favorite things to do.

I tend to delight in getting to know each client – who you are and what matters to you – and to guide and accompany you through the realities of your life, including the struggles, questions, insights, and learnings.

I offer private instruction, self-compassion sessions, and coaching.

Each of these services offer opportunities to explore ways to:

  • Be with your thoughts, feelings and experiences with more awareness, compassion, and curiosity.
  • Surface your authentic insights and (re)connect with your inner wisdom.
  • Find greater alignment with your priorities in your daily life.
  • Approach change as a kind experiment, and with a growth mindset (learning as we go).
  • Elevate your self-care with a focus on what is truly replenishing for you.
  • Embrace who you are rather than who you think you “should” be.

Private Instruction

Learn and apply practices and skills through customized and private instruction. I will design a custom one-on-one class series for you, based on your interests and goals. We will engage in 5 class sessions, each including a theme and focus area, related exercise or practice, time for reflection, discussion, and questions, and guidance on incorporating the new skill, perspective, or learning into your everyday life.

Choose an area of focus:

  • Self-compassion: The art and science of treating yourself like a good friend.
  • Mindfulness: Balanced, non-judgmental present moment awareness.
  • Yoga: A contemplative practice for healing, integration, connection and kindness.
  • Designing Your Life: A creative method of applying the human-centered design thinking process to the challenges we meet in life.
  • The mash-up (informed by a combination of these frameworks)

Pricing:

1-hour custom class series (Package of 5):

Standard rates: $550 for a package of 5 classes

Sliding scale rates: Begin at $325 for a package of 5 classes. Sliding scale rates are available to address income and resource inequality, and are available to anyone who can benefit.


Self-Compassion Sessions

These sessions are less structured than private instruction or coaching and provide an opportunity to explore the art of ‘being with’ yourself and your experiences in a compassionate way.

  • Be seen and heard.
  • Engage in self-compassion and mindfulness meditations and exercises.
  • Take a more spacious approach to being with emotions, thoughts, and experiences with awareness, curiosity and compassion.
  • Explore your experiences and apply self-compassion for healing and well-being.

Available online (Zoom) or in-person (Brunswick, ME)

Life and Well-Being Coaching

Engage in a supported process to make changes in alignment with your values to enhance well-being, manage stress, navigate changes and transitions, embark on new endeavors, and adopt new habits and behaviors.

  • Engage in supported discussion and reflection.
  • Articulate your values, priorities, and vision for the future and/or a more balanced, empowered ‘now’.
  • Set goals and take an experimental approach to learning what helps you move closer to and ultimately achieve those goals.
  • Make shifts in beliefs and behaviors.
  • Seek clarity through discussion and reflection, and/or journaling and visual tools.
  • Find greater alignment with your priorities in your daily life.
  • Soften self-criticism and self-doubt.
  • Embrace who you are rather than who you think you “should” be.

Options for Life and Well-Being Coaching:

We can engage in talk-based coaching and/or we can incorporate mind-body and creative practices into sessions to release stress and surface new insights.

Options include:

  1. Incorporate mind-body and creative practices from across the modalities I offer in a holistic way as a part of our sessions.
  2. Focus on incorporating Yoga into sessions (Yoga Coaching)
  3. Incorporate Designing Your Life tools into sessions (DYL Coaching)


Option 1: Add Mind-Body and Creative Practices to Coaching – A Holistic Approach

Apply tools and practices that help to reframe challenges, hold difficulty with more compassion, bring new insights, and help to move you forward.

As a part of coaching, we can draw from the frameworks of self-compassion, mindfulness, yoga and Designing Your Life, based on what is most helpful to you. The focus would be on helping you move forward, and providing new perspectives, skills and tools when you are stuck.

Examples of what this might look like in practice includes:

  • Engaging in a self-compassion exercise when self-criticism or a difficult emotion is arising, considering compassionate and healthy boundaries, exploring motivation with compassion, and/or identifying the practices that help you to recharge in the midst everyday life.
  • Integrating mindfulness into our sessions- such as beginning and ending with a brief mindfulness practice, threading mindful awareness through the coaching process for greater clarity, and exploring practical ways to bring mindfulness into everyday life.
  • Incorporating yoga into our sessions – integrating centering movement at the beginning, middle or end of the session, and/or exploring themes that we are working on in coaching in an embodied way.
  • Integrating Designing Your Life tools for a more creative and flexible approach to life’s wicked problems

Option 2: Yoga Coaching

Life and Well-Being Coaching with yoga.

  • Incorporate movement, breathing, meditation and/or mindfulness into each session.
  • Cultivate embodiment – tune in to and connect with the wisdom of your body.
  • Explore themes from yogic and contemplative philosophy into the coaching process, considering how to apply ancient wisdom in our modern lives.

Option 3: Designing Your Life (DYL) Coaching

Life and Well-Being coaching with design tools.

  • Incorporate design tools to work toward your goals, such as:
    • The art of reframing
    • Designing your day for more balance and energy
    • Brainstorming new ideas
    • Prototyping – engaging in small experiments to test life’s possibilities.
